The word “LOVING-KINDNESS” is worldly famous nowadays. People searching happiness everywhere. Because they don’t know that they cannot find real happiness within the world they see. They think that happiness prevails in their activities like diving, walking along the beach, diving, clubbing, Sex, Relationships, traveling , making a palace, having a most luxurious vehicle, do shopping etc. Certainly, Of course, sort of a happiness is there we cannot say 100% no. But we can find real happiness only within ourselves only. Finally, Lord Buddha taught us how to find real eternal happiness within ourselves. We dedicate this page to guide you to find your ultimate eternal happiness according to Lord Buddha’s way.
Recent reports indicate present world, a lot of people are suffering from mental disorders. By the name, some of the very common disorders are stress, anxiety, trauma, tension, Postpartum Depression, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, etc. Though they seem very similar words each has slight differences. Anyway, all these are just because of unawareness of ourselves. Especially, do not know how to control them. Moreover, do not know how to stop them, without taking them in. Else, stopping them, without processing them continuously. One main remedy is spreading “Loving-Kindness”. We will discuss later step by step how to improve yourself. Also, how to identify your thoughts and purposes and act accordingly.
Our main aim is to teach you in simple words how to make your life happier and free forever. Also, free from mental disorders or stress occurring due to any kind of reason or prevailing scenarios in families, in relationships, or due to any kind of illnesses. Keep this in mind, certainly, nobody can cure these kinds of effects except yourself. Only, the person whom affected should be able to recover from the situation by changing their thoughts process.
“Preventive is better than cure”. If we are to follow this quote then we need to practice our mind in Lord Buddha’s way as to free from unnecessary effects and influences. Alternatively, we need to learn how to stop taking unnecessary things into our mind. Also how to stop them processing with negative effects which may creates many issues. What are we going to do now?
Certainly, we need to start from the beginning. Start from the basics. Then we can advance little by little to learn about our mind and its complexities. Once you are aware of all the parts, simply you can control them. Gradually, we are going to learn the controlling techniques. Also, how to control those energies by applying them the opposite energy.
In c. 563 BCE or 480 BCE, Prince “Siddhartha Gautama” was born in Lumbini[India]. His father was King “Suddodana”. Mother was Queen “Mahamaya”. In this era, there were more than 64 religions in India. Some of them seem very similar. Yet, they have different believes and actions. Like today we have Muslim, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. But at that time there were no Buddhism or Buddha. Gradually, when Siddhartha become 16 years old King Suddodana saw his son’s meditative turn of mind.
Sooner, he married Siddhartha to a beautiful lady “Yasodara”. At the age of 29, a very special thing happened. Being born to the King’s family he used to go out to see the beauty of the village. He loved so much to the nature. Also, enjoy the beauty of the nature. Consequently, he had Three Palaces named “Ramya” “Suramya” and “Subha” for three seasons winter, Autumn, and Summer.
Prince Siddhārtha Gautama, the Buddha-to-be, used to go out from the palace for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of nature. Certainly, Having been thoroughly sheltered by the pleasures of his palace life, he encounters the “four sights” That changed his mind. Though those four sites of
01. an elderly man,
02. an ill person,
03. a corpse, and
04. an ascetic
are very common in the society, king Suddodhana had made arrangements to avoid those sites from the areas where Prince used to visit.
Finally, God made arrangements to show those sites on Prince’s way. After recognizing that life is defined by old age, sickness, and death he renounces his ignorant existence to discover a path to enlightenment that would ultimately transcend it. Causality in real life is rarely so simple. Throughout his samsara journey, he has been practicing Loving-Kindness and that practice tends to change his mind with these four sites for searching liberty.
Finally, the day Prince “Rahula” was born, Prince Siddhartha left the palace. He left searching for his freedom by renouncing his ignorant existence to discover a path to enlightenment. After studying under 5 ascetics he realized there was no solution for what the Siddhartha Gauthama was searching for. After 6 years of rigorous sorrowful painful life, he gave up 5 ascetics’ methods of meditating. He realized the repercussions of the two extremes of the Lustful life and sorrowful life. Then he started taking food and drink while following the middle path.
Eventually, he began his great search by giving up the six years, sorrowful ascetic meditating and fasting life. When he realized the bad effects of the fasting meditation he stopped fasting. Most importantly, he understood it was one of the extremes. Furthermore, through his experience, he discovered his method of meditation. Gradually improving his powerful mediation thought process he achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. While achieving Enlightenment ascetic Siddhartha Gauthama Become Lord Buddha. Prince Siddhartha being practiced Loving-Kindness greatly, throughout his samsara, helped his Enlightenment.
However, rather than a march of perfectly distinct ripples, life is more analogous to a vast rainstorm spattering the surface of an endless ocean of awareness. It is no wonder then that only the fully omniscient Buddhas are said to truly understand the intricacies of karma. The awesome complexity of cause and effect that produces “the world and its inhabitants,” every moment of experience and every atom of its content. Once Buddha realized this truth his heart filled with Loving-Kindness and felt Compassion for these deserted innocent people who sank in this illusion.
What the Lord Buddha taught to society was called Buddhism. In this very short briefing, we gained a fair knowledge of the Lord Buddha’s life since Prince Siddhartha Gauthama’s birth to enlightenment. This is a very long detailed story brief into few paragraphs.
In essence, now everyone can understand that Buddhism is for the people who are searching for the liberation of their lives. Else, for the people who are searching for happiness or joy or freedom of life. It does not belong to anybody. Though most people thought Buddhism is a religion no it is not. It goes beyond religion. Buddhism is a self-research. It’s a then and there result oriented guidance that Lord Buddha guaranteed. Exploring “I” and practicing to eradicate “I” or ego. Buddha himself understood through meditative wisdom and taught us the way to do it. Those who are willing to explore the truth can follow the Lord Buddha’s Teachings.
Buddha himself without any help from anybody, alone by practicing continuous rigorous Vipassana Meditation understood the path to Nirvana and enlightened being called Lord Buddha. Those who followed this eightfold path and attained Nibbana were called “Arahath Sangha”. After the enlightenment seven weeks, Lord Buddha spent his time under the Bodhi Tree enjoying the blissful happiness of the enlightenment.
During the first week after enlightenment, the Buddha sat under the bodhi tree experiencing the happiness of freedom and peace. Moreover, he was free from disturbing thoughts, calm and blissful.
During the second week, in thanks and gratitude to the tree that had sheltered him during his struggle for Buddhahood, the Buddha stood without moving his eyes as he meditated on the bodhi tree. Following this example, it is the custom of Buddhists to pay respect to not only the original bodhi tree, but also to the descendants of the bodhi tree that still thrive today.
In the third week, the Buddha saw through his supreme wisdom that the devas in the heavens were not sure whether he had attained enlightenment or not. To prove his enlightenment the Buddha created a golden bridge in the air and walked up and down it for a whole week.
In the fourth week, Lord Buddha created a beautiful jeweled chamber. While sitting inside the chamber he meditated on what was later known as the “Detailed Teaching” (Abhidhamma)”. His mind and body were so purified that six colored rays came out of his body — blue, yellow, red, white, orange, and a mixture of these five. Today these six colors make up the Buddhist flag. Each color represented one noble quality of the Buddha:
01. yellow for holiness,
02. white for purity,
03. blue for confidence,
04. red for wisdom, and
05. orange for desirelessness.
06. The mixed color represented all these noble qualities.
During the fifth week, while meditating under a banyan tree, the three most charming girls called “Tanha, Rati, and Raga” came to disturb his meditation. They danced most seductively and charmingly. They did everything to tempt the Buddha to watch their dance. Yet he continued to meditate unperturbed, and soon they tired and left him alone.
The Buddha then went and meditated at the foot of a Muchalinda tree. It began to rain heavily. At the time huge king cobra came out and coiled his body seven times round the Buddha to keep him warm and placed his hood over the Buddha’s head to protect him from the rain. After seven days the rain stopped. Then the snake changed into a young man who paid his respects to the Buddha.
The Buddha then said:
“Happy are they who are contented.
Happiness is for those who hear and know the truth.
Happy are they who have goodwill in this world towards all sentient beings.
Happy are they who have no attachments and have passed beyond sense-desires.
The disappearance of the word “I AM ” is indeed the highest happiness.”
During the seventh week, the Buddha meditated under the Rajayatana tree. On the fiftieth morning, after seven weeks of fasting, two merchants came into his presence. They were called Tapassu and Bhalluka. They offered the Buddha rice cakes and honey to break his fast and the Buddha preached to them some of what he had found in his enlightenment.
These two merchants, by taking refuge in the Buddha and his Dharma (translated as “teachings of the Buddha”), became the first lay followers. There was no Sangha (order of monks and nuns) then. They asked the Buddha for something sacred to keep with them. The Buddha wiped his head with his right hand and pulled out some hair to give to them. These hair relics, called Kesa Datu, were later reputed to be enshrined by the merchants on their return home to what is now known as Burma, in the Shwedagon Pagoda in Rangoon.
Enlightenment means the realization of the Four Noble Truths.
01. The truth of the unsatisfactoriness = [Dukkha Sacca]
02. The truth of the cause of the unsatisfactoriness = [Dukkha-Samudāya sacca]
03.The truth of the cessation the unsatisfactoriness = [Dukkha-Nirodha Sacca]
04. The truth of the way leading to the cessation of unsatisfactoriness = [Dukkha Nirodha Gamini Ppaṭipadā Sacca]
in twelve different ways, namely,
01. Truthfulness – [Sathya Gnana]
02. True Wisdom, Fact Wisdom,-[Kruthya Gnana]
03. Gratitude Wisdom. –[Krutha Gnana]
Importantly, the Abhi-Sambuddha Sutta of the Samyukta Nikaya also states, “Mahanani, the Thathagatha’s[Lord Buddha] are said to be Arahant Sambuddha because they have especially understood the Four Noble Truths. Throughout their journey of samsara without any help, they find these truths and teach others to overcome this illusion.
Most importantly, If you want to follow Buddhism Teachings few things that you need to keep in mind.
One who wants to learn all those, yes there are possibilities. With Loving-Kindness you need to dedicate yourself full-time while working hard by learning the language “Pali”. You do not need to by heart or memorize These Jargons. For the time being just to be aware of the subject.
